Onion Blossom

Here is an aperitif recipe that I have seen a lot lately on social networks and that I really wanted to test because it looks like a big killer! This is a whole onion cut in the shape of a flower before being breaded and fried and then served with a sauce of your choice!

I suggest here a small pepper sauce with horseradish, but you are free to propose the recipe with any other sauce that suits you more! To make sure you get a pretty flower, be careful when cutting the onion so that it does not fall apart when frying.

* Preparation:

Cut off the top of the onion, turn it over on a board and form petals by slicing it around the root.

2

Flip the onion and peel off the layers to define the petals.

3

Mix the flour and spices in a bowl and pass the onion through, taking care to distribute the flour evenly between the layers. Shake lightly to release the excess.

4

In another bowl, beat the egg with the milk and place the onion in it to coat it well.

5

Repeat the operation a second time with the flour, always taking care to distribute the mixture well between the petals.

6

Heat a frying bath to 190 ° C. and dip the onion upside down for 3 minutes, turn them over and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Allow it to drain on paper towels for 5 minutes.

7

Make the sauce by combining all the ingredients, then serve it with the onion and enjoy! Enjoy your meal

ENJOY !!
